Our shining star is a family. The Prazak family has been involved with Tawatinaw from day 1. Wesley Prazak was the first operator of the hill, along with Joe Moser. Irene Prazak, Wesley’s wife, ran the kitchen. At some point George Prazak and Perry Prazak (Wes’ sons) took over operation of the rental shop.
Perry took over operations of the hill from his Dad and Perry’s wife Margaret took over the kitchen. Ryan Prazak (George’s son) eventually took over his Dad and Mom Pat’s part of the rental shop. Perry and Margaret’s three children grew up on the hill and worked there in various capacities.
Four years ago roles shifted and Perry became the head snow maker and groomer. He is a master groomer and builds great jumps, a fantastic terrain park and a training/competition mogul line for the local Freestyle ski team. At that same time Margaret retired from the kitchen. Locals still lament the loss of her chili.
