Marmot Basin is the only ski area in Jasper National Park, an 11,000 square kilometer wilderness, which is part of the UNESCO Canadian Rockies World Heritage Site. With the highest base elevation of any major ski area in Canada, Marmot Basin enjoys abundant dry, natural snow from mid-November to early May. Marmot Basin offers visitors 91 runs on 1,720 acres (696 hectares) of skiable terrain and seven modern lifts that allow different ability levels to ski runs at their own pace then ride up together.
It is one of the most diverse ski areas in North America for all abilities, from novice to expert, on five mountain faces that naturally guide everyone to the three mountain chalets. Families have room to carve turns at their leisure on long, perfectly groomed trails while experts can find high alpine bowls and steep chutes filled with Rocky Mountain powder to fulfill their dreams! Three terrain parks on the mountain are great places for those looking to catch some air. A dedicated learning area provides a safe environment for everyone to experience skiing or snowboarding. All the amenities to make your visit convenient are available on the mountain – retail store, dining, rentals, snow school lessons and a nursery. Escape the crowds and lift lines this winter to Jasper – an authentic, Canadian ski town.
