Tawatinaw Valley Alpine
Tawatinaw Valley Alpine and Nordic Centre is one of the best lowland ski areas in Alberta. Located only one hour north of Edmonton, this ski hill spreads over 140 acres and offers 24 downhill runs and over 25km of scenic cross country ski trails. For those who crave a challenge, the terrain park has "hits", "rails", "funboxes" and one of two super pipes found in Alberta.
Located just off highway 2, the Ski Centre was established in 1967 for Canada’s Centennial and has operated ever since. Over the span of the last 40 years, the hill has grown to meet the needs of winter outdoor enthusiasts. Offering Alpine and Nordic skiing, as well as a terrain park.
The hill operates most weekends and holidays throughout the winter season. Tawatinaw offers runs to suit everyone’s needs, from novice to advanced in both Alpine and Nordic. There are 3 T-bars and one tow rope which provide access to all Alpine runs and the terrain park. Nordic skiing can be accessed from the upper parking lot; please ensure that you stop at the Ski Centre for your day or season pass.
There is a large chalet where food and rentals are available. Ski and Snowboard lessons are available for individuals, groups and schools.
For the Nordic enthusiast there are 25km of groomed trails for both classic and skate style skiing. Each season the ski centre hosts the Tawatinaw Valley Loppet prior to the annual Alberta Birkebeiner.

Tawtinaw Ski Valley Centre is Located 86.0 km (one hour) north of Edmonton just off of Highway 2.
Turn off of Highway 2 and head down the hill into the valley. You’ll see the hill on the left. There is free parking behind the chalet.
