Tawatinaw Valley Resort

Located only one hour north of Edmonton, this ski hill spreads over 140 acres and offers 24 downhill runs, over 20 km of scenic cross country ski trails and a tubing hill. For those who crave a challenge, the terrain park has “hits”, “rails”, and “funboxes”. The ski area was established in 1967 for Canada’s Centennial and has operated ever since. Over the span of the last 50 years, the hill has grown to meet the needs of winter outdoor enthusiasts.

Tawatinaw Valley offers runs to suit everyone’s needs, from novice to advanced in both alpine and nordic. There are 2 T-bars and one tow rope which provide access to all downhill runs and the terrain park. There is a large chalet with a licensed cafeteria offering homestyle cooking. Ski and snowboard rentals are available. Ski and Snowboard lessons are available for individuals, groups and schools.

Nordic skiing can be accessed from the upper parking lot; please ensure that you stop at the Chalet for your day or season pass. Each season the ski centre hosts the Tawatinaw Valley Loppet prior to the annual Alberta Birkebeiner.
